DJ Steve Boy – PodRunner – OC Podcasters

podrunner

I haven’t really talked about my involvement in the new media space all that much here on GeekFit. I’m the President of the OC Podcasters in Southern California, the group meets monthly in Costa Mesa and discusses podcasting, new media, social media and all things audio video. Tonight we have a guest that I’ve been wanting to have talk at our meeting for some time now DJ Steve Boyett who does the Podrunner Podcast. I’ve known DJ Steve Boy for a while now, we’d see each other at various LA events and at the most recent one we were talking about the unique way he got into podcasting. Steve has a unique way he got into podcasting and how he runs his podcasts and he kinda went off on his own way of putting his show together. He also pays dearly for the rights to use the music that he plays on his show. Tonight we’re going to have him talk about all of that at tonights meeting and I wanted to tell you all about it.

If you’ve ever wondered where that awesome music you listen to during your workout comes from I invite you to come watch the live stream tonight (or the archive once we release it) over at the OC Podcasters Live site. The live stream start at 7:00pm PST (-0800 UTC), tune in a bit early to catch us setting things up. Also if you have any questions you want me to relay to Steve you can leave a comment here on this blog post or you can ask him in the uStream chat yourself tonight.

Using your brain can be the best way to break away from those habits. That's at the heart of software engineer Steve Klassen's weight loss effort. Klassen, who has chronicled his push to 300 pounds from 450 pounds on the GeekFit Podcast, suggests geeky dieters use a timer to remind themselves when they should eat, and keeping a fridge full of healthy food, such as Smart Ones and Lean Cuisine.
