I haven’t really talked about my involvement in the new media space all that much here on GeekFit. I’m the President of the OC Podcasters in Southern California, the group meets monthly in Costa Mesa and discusses podcasting, new media, social media and all things audio video. Tonight we have a guest that I’ve been wanting to have talk at our meeting for some time now DJ Steve Boyett who does the Podrunner Podcast. I’ve known DJ Steve Boy for a while now, we’d see each other at various LA events and at the most recent one we were talking about the unique way he got into podcasting. Steve has a unique way he got into podcasting and how he runs his podcasts and he kinda went off on his own way of putting his show together. He also pays dearly for the rights to use the music that he plays on his show. Tonight we’re going to have him talk about all of that at tonights meeting and I wanted to tell you all about it.

If you’ve ever wondered where that awesome music you listen to during your workout comes from I invite you to come watch the live stream tonight (or the archive once we release it) over at the OC Podcasters Live site. The live stream start at 7:00pm PST (-0800 UTC), tune in a bit early to catch us setting things up. Also if you have any questions you want me to relay to Steve you can leave a comment here on this blog post or you can ask him in the uStream chat yourself tonight.

I’d like to take this time to introduce to you two websites that well help you keep track of your food intake and all of the working out you have been doing.
SparkPeople.com - Free diet plans customized for you by SparkPeople.com. Other diets do not compare to the free diet tools and resources you get from SparkPeople.

This is our first actual recording since returning from the expo. On to the show notes:

Steve starts by complaining about the Ontario airport.

The guys discuss the portable media expo and all the tom-foolery therein.

Steve talks about his winter workout schedule - more about that in the next podcast.

Some confusing talk about the link between serotonin receptors in the brain and exercise - I’ll come up with some supporting articles for the next podcast.

So evidently there’s a little bit of a hiss on the recording. Steve thinks it’s on his side, so he’s going to dink with it a bit and figure out how to get rid of it. Jason’s side is clean and they’re using the same gear. It will be dealt with. Oh yes, it will.
