Jason was at the September OC Podcasters meetup and Craig from Behind the Scenes Podcast was there to do some quick interviews of everyone. He asked everyone about the upcoming Expo and what to expect and what their previous experiences were like last year.
Jason can be heard at timecode 13:50, our good fitness friend Russ from FatGuyRadio can be heard before him at timecode 13:40. Scott Stys from This Married Life, The Curbside Investigator, and The Open Window was also at the meeting, He can be heard at timecode 17:30 “oh my goodness!”.
We had a good turnout that meeting, its a bit loud because we meet up at the Fox Sports Grill in Irvine and our tables were adjacent to the bar area.
Check out the episode, and if you haven’t heard Craig’s podcast before please check it out on itunes.
I didn’t want to freak anyone out by having this show up in your podcatchers so if you want to here the interviews you can download the audio from here:

Lifehacker.com mentioned a new website called Traineo.com. Traineo is a weight loss and fitness tracker designed to keep you motivated to achieve your fitness goals. Traineo has a really interesting concept wherein you choose up to 4 motivators (friends, family - whomever) to receive weekly progress reports from Traineo. This website is very very very 2.0 style where the look and feel is nice and clean and the site uses ajax like its going out of style (Ajax is the new tag haven’t you heard?).
Anyhow, I signed up for the site and will be doing a bit of a review on it in an upcoming episode. Check out our stats: Jason & Steve.

Steve and I here at GeekFit are always looking for ways for YOU to interact with us. We started out with giving out a phone number for people to call in and leave a voicemail. We received a few of those but not as many as we would have liked.
Starting today we have installed a new audio commenting system that has been developed by MyChingo and MightySeek. This will allow you folks the ability from your web browser to leave comments on any of the shows we post. You can also comment on any of the posts as well as the recipes that we put on the site.
I’ve included some simple instructions just in case some of you get stuck.

A couple months ago I posted on my livejournal blog complaining about needing gloves that provided better grip than the Harbingers I had. A friend of mine suggested I check out www.newgrip.com.
I poked around the site a little, read through all the quotes, and looked at the pictures. All good things, of course, but these are on the site that’s trying to sell the product. Off to google I went to see what other folks were saying about them. I came across an article over at LASplash.com entitled NewGrips: A Workout Glove that Fits. I couldn’t agree more.
At first I was a bit leery of ordering gloves online due to sizing. I wear 3x shirts but my gloves were only large (the leather ones stretch a bit after you use them a while). I figured I could always return them for a different size. I was pleasantly surprised that I was asked for my height and the size of my wrist in inches to determine the right size to order. I got my gloves a couple days later, attached the wrist straps to the pads and headed to the gym.
What a difference! It says it’ll take a few workouts to get them broken in but I could notice a considerable difference right away. I’d definitely recommend these if you’re in the market for some gloves. I’ll never go back.

Hi everyone! My name is Scott and I’ll be your friendly chef. Actually, I’m not really a chef, but I do enjoy cooking. I’m a private investigator by trade and I know how hard it is to eat healthy every day. For the sake of honestly, I’ll let you know that I grab a fast food meal just about every day and I know how bad it is for me. That’s why I try to cook healthy for my family each night. There’s nothing worse than a Whopper for lunch followed up by Domino’s Pizza because you were too lazy to cook.
I realize that cooking is a chore for some, so I’m going to try and make it fun. I’m going to pare down recipes so they are quick and easy, using minimal ingredients if possible, while at the same time keeping things healthy and tasty.
Why should you care? Because it’s your health, and along the way, mine too. And if you have kids, cook with them. It won’t make things quicker or easier, but you’ll be instilling in them good eathing habits that will take them through life.

I thought I’d give our listeners a heads up about this podcast. Steve and I will be back with a new podcast sometime this week. We planned on recording this weekend but that didn’t happen. If your reading this, thanks for sticking with us and please leave some comments using the various ways to do so. We’d love to hear some encouraging words from you all.

Hello Everyone,
We’re working on getting our 4th podcast recorded sometime this week. GeekFit has gotten a bit of an upgrade with some new studio equipment (we’ll be sure to mention all the new equipment in the show notes). Jason is working on getting the studio setup and running a few test before we record. One we have that done we’re hoping this will improve the quality of the recordings.
We have also launched our new network hub named PodcastRiot.com which our listeners can use to access the other shows in the network.
Since we haven’t recorded yet we’re still taking suggestions. If you have a suggestion or comment please leave us a voicemail: (360) 450-5026
